Anyone with an Android tablet can now download and use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as these are now out of beta and on Google app store.

All the features of these apps are free to use for 30 days. After this, some features require a subscription to Office 365. Even without a subscription, users will still be able to edit files.
These Android versions follow the release of Office for iPad, and they greatly resemble the iOS ones. They also look and act like the upcoming version of Office that Microsoft is crafting for Windows devices with touchscreens.
This suite of apps is part of Microsoft’s strategic move to extend Office beyond Windows, and get as many companies and individuals subscribing to Office 365 as possible, no matter what operating system they use. This strategy is starting to bear fruit, as Microsoft indicated that it experienced strong growth in subscriptions to this service in Q42014 in its most recent financial report.
